Forest Camp : Valencia, Negros Orriental

Image
The Forest Camp is located 11.5 Kilometers (6 Miles) of paved road west of Dumaguete City. 20 minutes is all it takes to reach paradise; away from the noise and pollution of city life. The resort is 2.5 Hectares of nature at its best, a valley under a canopy of tropical, indigenous forest trees. It has a river passing through its landscape with cascading sound blending perfectly with the welcoming songs of birds and applause of leaves. Enhancing the scenery is its constantly cool ambiance being 800 feet above sea level. Indeed it is one of the main attractions of Valencia, Negros Oriental. Sticking to its natural beauty concept, it has 9 cold spring swimming pools designed to appear like natural lagoons formed by the river. Inside is a 90 meter zip line that crosses the river and over the swimming pools, parallel to a hanging bridge. It is the safest and shortest zip line in the world! It also has a 30 foot climbing wall and a 25 by 25 meter skate bowl for modern exe

Road to Bacolod City

Image
Do everything with passion.  It's  my first time to visit Negros Occidental specifically in Bacolod City. I was so excited when my friend invited me or included me  with  the plan of going to the city. This has been planned for a month and thank god I finally made it. Bacolod City has been called as "City of Smile" and I  wonder  when or how was it happen. Here's a quick facts from history of Bacolod City: Bacolod City , is a  highly urbanized city  in the  Philippines . [5]  It is the capital of the  province  of  Negros Occidental  where it is geographically situated but governed administratively independent from it. It is notable for its  MassKara Festival  held during the third week of October and is known for being a relatively friendly city, as it bears the nickname "The City of Smiles".   credits to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacolod The Capitol of Negros Occidental City Hall of Bacolod San Sebastian Church Inside t

My Campuestohan Highland Resort Experience

Image
Situated right in the boundaries of two of the most progressive cities in the province – Bacolod City and Talisay City, Campuestohan is a 5-hectare property that radiates the splendor of the lush green forests of Mt. Makawili. From this vantage point, one can see the breathtaking view of almost half of the entire province of Negros Occidental, and even that of Panay Island. Most of the time, the weather in the resort is downright cool while one can see the seemingly merciless heat in the plains below. From that grassy area situated about 800-meters above sea level, the 5-hectare property of Mr. and Mrs. Tan has undergone an enormous transformation and is now one of the most famous tourist destinations in Negros Occidental. Take a dip in the swimming pool, walk through the gardens, have fun in the playground and simply relax and unwind. In time, go horseback riding and bring out an adventurous spirit by riding on a 340-meter zipline. Everything that one can ask for is found

Celebrating Masskara 2017

The MassKara Festival (Hiligaynon: Pista sang MassKara, Filipino: Fiesta ng MassKara) is an annual festival with highlights held every fourth Sunday of October in Bacolod, Philippines. The word "Masskara" is a portmanteau, coined by the late artist Ely Santiago from mass (a multitude of people), and the Spanish word cara (face), thus forming MassKara (a multitude of faces). The word is also a pun on maskara, Filipino for "mask" (itself from Spanish máscara), since it's a prominent feature of the festival which are always adorned with smiling faces because it is called the city of smiles. The festival first began in 1980 during a period of crisis. The province relied on sugar cane as its primary agricultural crop ,the price of sugar was at an all-time low due to the introduction of sugar substitutes like high fructose (corn syrup) in the United States. This was the first Masskara Festival and a time of tragedy; on April 22 of that year, the
