Sagada Adventure

I wouldn't be inspired in going to this place if I were not able to watch the movie "That Thing Called Tadhana". The movie knocks my excitement to come and visit Sagada as truly a nice escape even you are broken hearted or not. Well, so much for that drama.

Sagada is located at northern part of Luzon which is around 11-14 hours of bus travel from Manila. The most common way of transportation is Manila-Baguio-Sagada which I had experienced during this escape. I took a bus from Manila to Baguio and decided to have an overnight before going to Sagada. I had my best friend during this trip so I had nothing to be scared of.
Dinner in Baguio City with bestfriend Aye!
Early in the morning, we took the first trip of the bus at 6:00 AM going to Sagada. The fare is 300-350 and its 5-6hours of travel. It's a long travel again so you must prepare your snacks and ofcourse your stomache if you will feel the call of nature. There are certain bus stop-over every 2 hours so nothing to worry if you can still control it.

As a long way of travel, many beautiful views which really amazed me during that time. I thought going to Sagada is colder than Baguio City as its is farther and higher if we base the geographical map, but I was wrong. Going to Sagada is really like summer, its really hot.

I was also impressed that the bus stopped exactly to the tourism office of the place. It is a way of convenient to the tourist of having the guide so easily.

Sagada is a quiet place just like a typical province that I know. The good thing is that they have ATM machine so if you run out of cash, you can still take advantage of the machine. Also, there are guesthouse/inn just nearby around the Tourism office. It ranges from 400-1000 for 2person.

As Sagada has been developed and being commercialized for the activities and adventure, they are also offering tour packages where you can enjoy during your stay in Sagada. The price is reasonable as it has already a tourist guide. Well, there are some spots in Sagada that doesnt need tourist guide but for your safety, I would recommend to have it.

This is one of the package tours that they offer and its 150-250pesos per person. By any chance you want to try wall climbing, they also have it with additional cost. Its 100 pesos and unlimited if its not peak days. This spots is also walking distance from their tourism office but still better to have a guide if you are new to the place.

After the warm up tour from echo valley and cemetery, we immediately decided to try caving adventure. They actually have 2 caves that they made it as an attraction. You can either choose which cave do you want to see, but the best thing is exploring inside from 1 cave to another cave. This package strictly requires tourist guide no matter it is connecting or not and it is only 600 pesos for 2 person.

STARTING POINT - LUMIANG BURIAL CAVE

We decided to have the connecting caving since we wanted to have an adventure. Just dont mind our outfits as we were not informed the proper way prior to the activity.

As the name of the cave is "Lumiang Burial Cave", you should expect that there are coffin that you can see at the mouth of the cave. The tourist guide said that dead people are also buried into this cave.

One of the challenging ways that we've been through.

My outfit doesn't fit at all.

One of the amazing rock formations inside the cave.

In more than 2hours, we passed all the challenges and traverse from one cave towards another cave. There are people behind us but they just having the tour in this one cave and not the connecting one.

Climbing inside the cave

It was really fun for a new experience of such a wonderful adventure that we tried in this cave. The strength, flexibility, enthusiasm and ofcourse the carefulness of this adventure really needed. I highly recommend this trip when you go there in SAGADA. I assure you that it would be an experience that you won't forget.

From Lumiang Burial Cave to Sumaging Cave. A 2 hour traverse from one cave towards another cave.

Day 2 - Kiltepan Peak
We decided to check-out and leave early morning so we can witness the beauty of sunrise as what they say. We already asked information from day one on where is the best place to see the sunrise. I and my bestfriend both don't know the place but we just use our instinct to find the "Kiltepan Peak". Yes, we were almost had the wrong way but, "hwag mahihiyang magtanong". Ehehh

Kiltepan Peak was also being part of "That Thing Called Tadhana" movie, where Angelica Panganiban shouted her emotions.

This is an hour walk from the Tourism office

The Sun is already up but the clouds still cover the mountain view.

This is what we are waiting when the sea of clouds gone.
