Here are the 10 reasons why you should not miss this out in your bucket list:
✔️ If you like biking or motor-cycling. You can use your skills in touring around Santa Fe Island. 🚴
You just need to rent the bike for only 150 pesos or motorcycle for only 250 pesos which is good for 24 hours. As you keep on paddling the bike around you'll see a simple farm and beach life - indeed a breather and a very good ambiance for de-stressing.
✔️ Cheap but quality Accommodation. We just paid 500 pesos for our room good for 2 people. Since it's the 3 of us, we paid 100 pesos per extra bed. And in 2 nights we just paid 200 something per head. Just search "Mayet Beach Resort" for booking and reservation. 🏡
✔️ Sea Food Overload. Three plastic bag of scallops for only 100 pesos plus 2 kilos of crab for 200 pesos.🐚 🦀
Far different from the city price. One of my travel buddies can't even resist from eating though he has an allergy of seafood. Good thing a medication is ready in case of an allergy attack. 😁
✔️ In every Beach adventure - Island Hopping should not be missed. For only 100 something pesos per head you can already explore 2 islands. Virgin Island which has a 500 entrance fee good for the first 2 persons and 100 pesos per head for the succeeding person. And the other island though which I forgot the name has free entrance and very nice for picture taking.
✔️ Swimming - If you wanted to swim in the deep part of the sea and experience how mermaid feels like - request from the island hopping pump boat driver to park you off somewhere near the beach shore. 🛳
Give it until an hour and embrace the feels, swim for your life with or without the life vest and experience the crystal clear water of Bantayan Island. 💦
✔️ Breath Taking Sunset - This was unexpected though. We thought at first we won't be able to witness any sunset since the place where we stay is in a different angle where you won't see the sunset. ☀️
While we are in the market of Bantayan Island buying some seafood for dinner at around 5pm onwards. We were amazed of the sunset. 🌄
✔️ Bantayan Cathedral - If you wanted to do Visita Iglesia, you should visit this church. There are different colors of candles with their corresponding meaning like red for love, yellow for happiness and the like. You should choose the color of your choice. Then we lit up the candles in the altar and whispered our prayers. ⛪️
✔️ Tequila Night - during the first and second night. We were in the beach shore, watched the sky full of stars, danced a little bit while the music plays, talked anything about life and most especially drank tequila and emperador until we got tipsy. 🍾🍺
✔️ Pizza Lover - If you like eating pizza. I would recommend Blue Eyes Restaurant which is famous in Santa Fe Island. Their pizza is like a viand full of meat, seems you'll be asking for rice to make it your dinner meal. 🍕
✔️ Camp Sawi - Also known as Kota Beach. The movie Camp Sawi was shooted in this beach resort. No Entrance Fee and it is a bike away from our resort. So we went there to hopefully have picture taken in the "Camp Sawi" sign board but unfortunately it was already removed. Nevertheless - the beach, the sand, the breathe of fresh air, they can already suffice a different level of happiness. 🌊💦
📍 How to go to Bantayan Island:
✔️ From Cebu North Terminal going to Hagnaya Port through a bus just pay 170 pesos which is a 3-hour ride.
✔️ From Hagnaya port going to Santa Fe Island, another 170 pesos fare for the ferry - just an hour ride.
✔️ Total of 340 pesos going there plus another 340 pesos going back. Grand Total of 680 pesos for the fare.
