Here's how you can explore Camiguin in just 3,000 in 3days/2nights.
Sample Budget Guide:
Accommodation : at least 600 pesos per night. We stayed in GV Hotel which is really convenient since it is in the mainland and just walking distance to the terminal and mall and more. You may book this online through traveloka.com or agoda.com
Food: It is a province so you can expect that there's a lot of affordable eatery (Carenderia) which we also had really enjoyed. 100 pesos is enough per meal.
Ride: 8-30 pesos per way within the town. Other detinations may range from 100-300php. You can rent motorcycle 350-600php per day make sure you have your driver's license to be safe.
Transfers: Airport transfer depends on the Hotel that you booked. Some hotels may offer airport transfer. We only do commute so from airport to GV hotel, we paid 150 for the entire (motorsela) since it is just within the town
We arrived 11AM so we check-in first and we spent the rest of the day in Mantigue Island.
From Mambajao Terminal, you can ride a jeep to San Roque where the port for Mantigue is located. Its only 25pesos for the jeepney. You can just tell the driver that you are heading to Mantigue Island. The Island is well managed by the local tourism so the transportation going there is fixed. Boat fare is 600 pesos with maximum capacity of 6 pax. There is environmental fee of 30 pesos each. You can stay longer hours if it is not peak season. Make sure to bring your own food and drinks if u wanna save. Well, there is a small store in the island so you can still buy some. Please also bring your garbage back to the mainland.
On the second day, it is the main tour that you will spend for whole day. You can explore half part of the island to their tourist spots that they offer. You can rent a motorcycle (900php for 2 with driver), motorsela (1200php for 6 pax) , multicab (1500 for the whole trip). Entrance fees are separate charges individually. We did DIY for Mantigue Island so this time is for White Island only. Better to start early so you can go to white island as first destination and the rest will follow. Boat rental going to white Island is 450php per 4 pax and Environmental fee is 5php each. An umbrella 100php for rent in the island since there is no trees or shade that you can rely on. Sunblock is really advised.
Our expenses and your possible expenses in the future:
650 per night for the room
600 for boat in Mantigue Island and 6pax is maximum
30 for environmental fee in Mantigue Island
450 boat to White Island maximum of 4pax
50 environmental fee each
100 umbrella for rent in White Island
50 entrance fee in Sto.Nino cold spring
50 entrance fee for Tuasan water falls.
10 for church ruins
10 for walk to volcano
1200 for Motorsela Tour transpo
50 entrance fee hot spring
150 fare to/from airport
Walk-in is fine but just be brave enough to search on the spot for a hotel.
Its fine if you only book your tours if you are already in the hotel, that is if you are not in hurry and you have enough days for your visit.
So if you are good in budgeting, 3000 php is enough for your 2 nights vacation in Camiguin.
Take note: They already have Gaisano in Mambajao. There are multiple ATM machines and one of them are PNB and Landbank and they are both just within the town.
